The Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Watch 8 units in Samsung’s home country, South Korea, are getting new software updates. They bring the May 2026 security patch, which fixes 36 security issues present in the previous version of the OS, making the wearables more secure than before.
The updates for the non-cellular variants of the Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Watch 8 are 169.83MB and 170.48MB in sizes and carry firmware versions L310XXS2BZE1 and L330XXS2AZE1, respectively (via Samsung Community & @Alfaturk16).
Samsung may release them in the remaining regions in the next few days. To check its availability and get it, open the Wearables app and go to Watch settings > Watch software update > Download and install.
Before installing the update, make sure to charge the watch’s battery to at least 50% and keep it on the charger while the new firmware gets installed. Note that the wearable may get warm during the update.
